Now In The Forest

As I set there in the small clearing, there were Birds singing, and one special male Red Bird caught my attention. I was wondering why it was dancing around on the ground and fluffing its wings. After a few minutes another red bird came and landed next to him. Now I think you know the rest of that little story.
I had rested and it was time to explore the rest of the area. You had to be there with me to see the beauty around me. There were beautiful flowers growing here and there, and I could not resist picking one of the yellow flowers to take home with me as a reminder of what I had seen in the forest.
The next thing I found was an arrow head. Holding it in my hand I was wondering if it could have been made by the Cherokee Indians. Being part Indian myself, I stuck the arrow head in my pocket to check it out later when I got back home.
Moving across to the other side of the clearing I sat down on a log. The warm sun shining on my shoulders and the smell of pine needles in the air. I felt relieved of the long walk it took to get here, and then out of the corner of my eye a Jack rabbit was sitting and looking at me. We set silent looking at each other and I was wondering what the rabbit was thinking and I am sure we will never know.
Well it’s time for me to head back home. I am glad that I made the decision to walk to the middle of the forest. Now I have wonderful memories of what I found, and they will stay with me for a long, long time to come.
This is the thought of the day. We will never know who walked this path before me. But the arrow head may know.
