I miss you, mother, and every single day
I hear your voice softly speaking to me
Like a beacon in the darkness to show the way
To best experience this mortality
I talk to you, mother, like you are right here
And I firmly believe that you truly are
Looking at the sky, you quell my fear
I find faith and hope in a twinkling star
I’m proud of you, mother, and I am inspired
Reminiscing the life you lived and gave
Selflessly sacrificing though sick and tired
Challenged you were steadfast and brave
I love you, mother, and I know that you
Will protect and watch over me always
My faith and love will guide me through
And we’ll reunite at the end of my days.
